Aging Ahead is committed to supporting individuals through the journey of aging!
By addressing hunger, reducing isolation and providing numerous programs and resources we can help ensure all have opportunities to age with dignity. We are proud to share some of the additional ways Aging Ahead delivers a difference in your community.
Christmas Meals
For over 25 years, Aging Ahead staff and volunteers have delivered a warm Christmas Meal, small gift bag and holiday cheer to 300+ St. Louis County seniors who are spending December 25th alone. Cindy Carlson, Community Options Specialist, organizes this successful program, which is solely funded through private donations. Local businesses and individuals also donate items such as scarves, hats, cards and toiletry items for the gift bags. This program relies on the generosity of our donors and we are beyond grateful!
Inspired by the Christmas Meal program, our Franklin County Community Options Specialists, Jennifer Meyer and Jessica Crawford decided to provide additional assistance to home-bound participants in their community. After identifying needs, they choose to focus on personal care items which are difficult for many to pay or shop for.
The Fresh Start to the New Year bags were delivered by Aging Ahead’s Meals on Wheels drivers during the first part of January. Local business donated all of the personal care items, which included: tooth paste, tooth brushes, shampoo, lotion, soap, toilet paper and paper towels.
Bank Star and their employees in Pacific adopted this initiative for their Christmas project and Bank Star matched each item their employees donated. We would also like to thank the following business for their generous donations: Ballas Dental Group, Bank Star, Heartland Independent, Home Instead, Meramec Dental, Osage Dental, Riesner Family Dental, Schroeder Drug, Victorian Gardens, and Walmart.
To all who support Aging Ahead through donations of your time, resources and talents, we thank you. We could not do it without you!

I recently heard that your agency cut the funding to OATS. Is this true? And is so, why?

Thank you for your comment. Although transportation services provided through OATS have NOT been cut, the contract Aging Ahead has with them has been overspent this fiscal year and adjustments were made. The services being provided by OATS are exceeding their budget allocation. Thank you again for your comment! If you have further questions, please let us know. You are always welcome to email us at info@agingahead.org.
